MFES seeks to bring quality education to all students. Every MFES school is public, but small, with no more than 100 students. Our core educational philosophy empowers students to be contributing members of their community. As experiential learners, researchers, and technological innovators, our students will study the same concepts as students in other schools, but to the greatest extent possible, their work will matter to those in their community - to a town committee they are presenting it to, to the boss in their apprenticeship, or to the client they are working for.
Our robust curriculum is based on proven learning models. Using borderless technology, personalized curricula, experiential and service learning, and mentoring and apprenticeships, students will meet rigorous but flexible academic standards. The curriculum emphasizes literacy and numeracy and places multi-disciplinary science and social studies in both local and global contexts.
